Infiniti’s M56 debuts in 2011 to replace their previous mid-size luxury powerhouse, the M45. Both the rear wheel drive M56 and the all-wheel drive M56x have big V8 DOHC engines and aggressive, “look at me”, styling. Starting under $60,000, the M56 has a lower price compared to its direct competition from Germany.Power comes to the 2011 M56 in the form of a big, brute of a 5.6 liter V8 that puts out 420 horsepower. The 7-speed automatic transmission is standard and has four shift modes in addition to the manual shift paddles. For the new 2011 M56, Infiniti chose an aggressive looking style with a lowered ride height and bulging fenders. Standard traction for the M56 comes from 18-inch alloys shod with V-speed-rated performance tires.
The M56 has a long list of standard safety features including front and side airbags, 4-wheel antilock brakes, and an active head restraint system designed to reduce whiplash injury in the event of a collision.
Inside the 2011 M6’s cabin, there are many standard high-tech features included in the base model. The 10 speaker Bose stereo includes Bluetooth integration, XM satellite radio, and an iPod connection. Climate control has separate driver and passenger controls for comfort.
