The all 2011 M56 is Infiniti’s newest entry into the mid-size luxury sedan segment. Both the rear wheel drive M56 and the all-wheel drive M56x have big V8 DOHC engines and aggressive, “look at me”, styling. Starting under $60,000, the M56 has a lower price compared to its direct competition from Germany.

Power comes to the 2011 M56 in the form of a big, brute of a 5.6 liter V8 that puts out 420 horsepower. Putting the power to the pavement is a seven speed automatic transmission with manual paddle shifters and four shift modes (Snow, Eco, Standard, and Sport). The exterior styling does nothing to hide this car’s intent. The styling cues are all aggressive fender flares and a lowered stance. Standard traction for the M56 comes from 18-inch alloys shod with V-speed-rated performance tires.

The M56 has a long list of standard safety features including front and side airbags, 4-wheel antilock brakes, and an active head restraint system designed to reduce whiplash injury in the event of a collision.
